Museum Day at the capitol was a success and SIAM was mentioned as an example for how local museum associations should operate. The governor has proposed that $9 million go to the Public Museum Capital Grant program for next fiscal year. IAM is working with Gaylord Brothers through a program called Booksforever.com where IAM members will receive discounts on Gaylord products and a portion of these sales will be donated to IAM¹s museum grant program. The Grant Review committee will draft language to include consortia as eligible for the IAM museum grant program. Lori and Adrienne are giving a presentation about SIAM at the 2004 conference, which will be held on October 27-29 in Danville. Anyone with suggestions for the presentation should contact Lori (618-453-7402) or Adrienne (618-985-2828 ext. 8522).
