Appropriate Use
The University Museum Web Server is designed to provide access to museum resources. The University Museum Web Site, www.museum.siu.edu is funded and operated by the University Museum at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. The University Museum obtained the initial funds to construct this system and obtain connections from a grant from the Illinois State Board of Education.
Through the University Museum Web Site users can communicate with others, share resources, and retrieve useful information. Users of this system are bound by the following Appropriate Use Policy. Furthermore, any person using this site consents to the conditions of this policy.
In general:
- This system is to be used for legal purposes only. No illegal activity is permitted.
- No user shall disrupt or attempt to disrupt the use of the system or network or use it for activities prohibited by the system or network.
- Users who "loan" a password to an account on the server or enable unauthorized access will lose their account immediately.
- Only the University Museum shall be allowed to post information on this system.
