Using Fetch To Transfer
Your Files To The Server

The following instructions will assist you in downloading and using Fetch software. Please note: Fetch can only be used on MacIntosh computers. But it can be used to transfer files to any kind of Server whether it is on a PC or MacIntosh computer.

Downloading Fetch Software / Using Fetch /

Obtaining a copy of Fetch 3.0.3 for your computer:

Fetch is a user-friendly Macintosh FTP client; it allows point-and-click, drag and drop file transfers to and from any machine with an FTP server, over a TCP/IP network. Fetch is free to users affliated with an educational institutions or charitable non-profit organizations; all other users may purchase a licence.

Go to the Dartmouth College Website.

Dartmouth College is the software developer for Fetch. You will need Stuffit Expander software to expand the file. Once you download the file if it doesn't automatically expand and create a file on your desktop called Fetch 3.0.3 Installer then try double clicking on the Fetch_3.0.3.hqx with the mouse to expand it. Once you downloaded and expanded the file, double click on the Fetch 3.0.3 Installer to install the software. (It is circled in red.)

This creates a second file on your computer called Fetch 3.0.3 Installer.

Locate the Fetch 3.0.3 Folder. Double click on this folder icon to open it up. Inside is the Fetch application program. (It is circled in red.)

Congratulations! You have successfully downloaded Fetch.
