This website was created by students of Lawrenceville High School as part of the Museum in the Classroom grant from the Illinois State Board of Education. The grant involved technology improvements for the school and training for the students involved. This grant also provided funds to allow students to spend time and do research at their assigned museum. During the 1997-98 school year, we visited Southern Illinois University of Carbondale and had full use of the facilities of this institution.
"Victorian Secrets" is a cooperative effort of the social studies and art departments of Lawrenceville High School. More than 50 students have participated in various aspects of this project. The six students identified later have been the originators, coordinators, artists, and decision makers for this project. These six received considerable computer training to do this project. This project is an "engaged" learning project in which the six key students directed the entire project.
