Museums in the classroom

Museums in the Classroom was a grant through the Illinois State Board of Education which connected various public schools to various museums in Illinois via the intrnet. Thisgrant was a great experience because it allows our high school students to utilize the highway of technology and search various museums for inforamtion and artifacts. The students enjoyed learning how to use the internet, the flexcam and digital canera to take pictures of Native American objects that they created, and enjoyed looking at museum artifacts on the computer. In a few months, a project regarding New Guinea and the Pacific Realm will be added using information and artifacts from SIU's Museum.
