Sometimes referred to as a "mammy's bench" this cradle seat was a combination of seat on one end and cradle with removable rack at the other on rockers. A rack about 3 feet long could be placed at one end of this bench and that portion of it turned into a baby's cradle, leaving space at the other end for the mother to sit and work. The rack could be removed when it was not used as a cradle and space for up to 3 people to sit was thus provided. The rockers, most of the removable rack, and the front corner post are restorations.
