The University Museum

The 22nd annual Arts Education Festival takes place April 16 & 17, 2008 on the campus of SIUC.  Students in grades one through five from 22 Southern Illinois counties are invited for a daylong immersion in the arts.  Students have an opportunity to see, hear, and practice in art workshops ranging from glass blowing to story telling to ethnic dancing to hands on art.  SIUC staff and community members conduct the workshops.

Carbondale Community Arts, the College of Liberal Arts, the Office of the University Provost, and the College of Education have provided support for the event.  Many community members and students volunteer their time and talents to make this event happen every year.
